Who we are ..... Where we are .....
What we do .....
European Language Services Euro-Séjours
is a French based educational travel agency (and limited company)
founded in 1987. We are a bonded travel agent, with a licence issued
by the Préfecture de Laval, which enables us to offer our services
and operate in any country in the European Union. Our head office is
in Laval, France. We are an active member of U.N.O.S.E.L.
(Union Nationale des Organisations de Séjours Linguistiques), the
principal French regulatory body grouping organisations such as our
own. We therefore observe all aspects of the U.N.O.S.E.L.
charter.
Up to very recently, our main
activity has been organising educational tours for French school
groups to other European destinations, and mainly the U.K. However,
for some years we have been developing incoming groups, and this
year, our tenth anniversary incidentally, we have decided to make a
special effort to encourage U.K. groups to France and to our other
European destinations. In addition to these activities, we also
provide interpreting and translation services for commerce and
industry.
Our organisation :
Our head office is in Laval, France :
Five members of staff work there : Catherine Galineau is in charge
of incoming groups. Once you decide to work with our organisation,
the same person will deal with all aspects of your tour, and you can
contact him or her at any time during office hours. While groups are
abroad, our telephone number is open 24 hours a day.
E.L.S. Group Leaders :
Please note - we make a point of
calling them 'group leaders' and not 'guides'. They have a triple
role :
First :
They are there to prepare the ground with your pupils for all the
visits included in your programme. Since they aren't considered as
guides, they have to do this in the coach prior to arriving at the
site, and not at the site itself.
Secondly :
These people have been carefully selected for their knowledge of the
country to be visited. We expect them to share this knowledge with
your pupils, and to try and arouse their curiosity for each and
every aspect of the way of life in the country they are visiting.
Thirdly :
They are there to make sure that everything goes smoothly :
entrances to museums or monuments, departure and arrival times,
accommodation, etc. These people are selected on interview. They are
then trained by E.L.S. You can call on them to help out with any
situation throughout the whole of your tour.
