La Basse Normandie                                             

Itinerary for a four night stay with La Jolie Ronde in Normandie.

Day 1 - Arrival :  Morning : Depart your school by coach for Portsmouth. Embarkation on board the Brittany Ferries sailing to Caen Ouistreham. Dinner on the ferry. Disembarkation and direct transfer to your residential centre. Room allocation and full board accommodation.

Day 2 - visit the biscuit factory and the Bayeux Tapestry : Morning : Depart by coach for Asnelles to visit the biscuit factory and taste the famous "sablé d'Asnelles". Picnic lunch. Afternoon : depart by coach for Bayeux and visit (with audio guides) the Bayeux Tapestry which describes in graphic detail William the Conqueror’s landing in England and the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Depart for Arromanches 360°,  a circular cinema. Discover the events of June 1944 through the film “The Price of Freedom”. Return to the centre for dinner with a stop for games on the beach.

Day 3 - visit the local bakery and shopping : Morning : Depart the centre by coach for Caen to visit the local bakery and make your own bread. Then, depart for the market in Caen : shopping with language exercises. Depart by coach for Ouistreham to have lunch at the local crêperie. Afternoon : games on the beach and depart for the supermarket for shopping with questionnaires. Return to the centre for dinner.

Day 4 - Le Mont Saint Michel and visit the goat farm : Morning : Depart by coach for Le Mont Saint Michel. Free time to discover ‘Le Mont Saint Michel’ one of the most famous monuments in France. Picnic lunch. Afternoon : visit of the museums chosen to learn everything about Le Mont Saint Michel and its bay. Depart for the goat farm. Meet the 40 alpine goats and receive a guided tour of the farm. There is also a video in English describing cheese production, and of course the tasting that nobody would miss ! Return by coach to the centre for dinner.

Day 5 - embarkation : Morning : Depart by coach for Caen-Ouistreham. Embarkation on board the Brittany Ferries sailing to Portsmouth. Disembarkation and direct transfer to your home town.
