Le Mans                                                                  

Itinerary for a 4 night stay with La Jolie Ronde near LE MANS, France.

Day 1 - Arrival : Early morning departure by coach from your school for Portsmouth. Embarkation on board a Brittany Ferries cross-Channel ferry for Caen-Ouistreham. Arrival in Ouistreham and direct transfer to your accommodation centre. Room allocation and full board accommodation for 4 nights. Dinner at the centre.

Day 2 -  Tour of the Loire Valley and boat cruise : Morning : Depart your home stay centre by coach for a tour of the Loire Valley, famous throughout the world for its Renaissance castles and vineyards. Then, on to the Cher Valley for a tour of a local Renaissance Castle. Picnic lunch in the gardens of the castle. Afternoon : departure for a one hour boat cruise on the river Cher under the arches of the castle and through two locks. In mid-afternoon, departure by coach for Tours in the Loire Valley for a  tour of a local bakery and tasting of the famous “Fouace de Rabelais” a speciality of Tours ; discovery visit and a full “goûter”. Return to Le Mans by coach early evening for dinner.

Day 3 - Futuroscope : Morning : Depart by coach for Poitiers to visit one of France's best known theme parks, the Futuroscope. Float in the air on the Tapis Magique, and experience live action in any of the 'Cinémas Dynamiques'. Or just admire the futuristic architecture as you wander round the park to visit as many of its attractions as you can fit into your day. Evening return by coach to your residential centre.

Day 4 - the local market visit of the old town of Le Mans : Morning : Depart for a visit to the local market with language exercises : children complete questionnaires. Then, guided visit of the old town of Le Mans and its cathedral. Lunch at a local crêperie. Afternoon : Depart by coach early afternoon, for a guided tour of the 24 hour race track and the car trial. Then, depart by coach for shopping in a local supermarket  with language exercises. Evening return to the residential centre for dinner.

Day 5 - ‘Le Mont Saint Michel’ Morning : Depart by coach for ‘Le Mont Saint Michel’ and discover one of the most famous monuments in France. Afternoon : Leave “Le Mont” by coach for Coquelles Embarkation on board the Shuttle and Channel crossing. Disembarkation in Folkestone. Immediate transfer by coach to your home town.
