Tours
Tours is in the west of
France along the Loire Valley. It is in the “département” of Indre et
Loire and has about 130.000 inhabitants. During your stay there you’ll
appreciate the city’s high quality of hospitality, while enjoying a
quiet way of life. City of Art and History, an ancient Gallo-Roman
settlement, and later the capital of the Kingdom of France, Tours has a
range of attractions, from the Old city known as “Le Vieux Tours” to the
famous Loire Valley Châteaux. The area offers a wide choice of visits
and excursions from the numerous vineyards along the Loire Valley to
some of France’s best known castles such as Chenonceau, Chambord or
Amboise.
A one hour drive from Tours
will take you to the Futuroscope in Poitiers for a thrilling and
unforgettable experience. In Tours we offer accommodation either with
host families, or in ‘Le Château de Saint Ouën des Vignes’, a
residential hostel with up to five-bedded rooms, located in an 11 acre
park twenty miles from Tours. An excellent range of facilities is
available, including a library, dining rooms, activity rooms, swimming
pool, tennis courts, archery, horse riding and bicycle rental.
